For longer circuits, an overnight train from Delhi to Khajuraho is also a comfortable option, and Jhansi station (about 4 hours by road) is well connected to Agra and Delhi by the Shatabdi Express.

Crisp mornings, lush post-monsoon foliage, and birding at its best. Tiger sightings are steady, and weather conditions are excellent for slow, exploratory drives.
March – April
Foliage thins and wildlife begins concentrating along the Ken River and remaining waterholes. Sightings improve as days warm up.
May – June
Peak heat draws tigers, leopards, and sloth bears to the river and waterholes. The most rewarding window for predator activity, although temperatures can climb past 40 degrees.
Booking tip: Panna sees lower volumes than Bandhavgarh, but March to June fills up early. Book 3 to 4 months in advance for these months.
